ROXAS CITY - A hilly lot in Barangay Dinginan teemed with people Feb.17-18 who flocked there for the Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine festival.

The yearly undertaking, held under the auspices of the V/B Alba Foundation, Inc., drew thousands of devotees from Capiz and neighboring towns. It coincided with the Barangay Dinginan fiesta.

The center of the celebration of the Our Lady of Lourdes housed on a Chapel at the top of a hill. Devotees and guests have to negotiate a 153-step stairways before reaching the shrine. The experience can be very spiritually and physically enriching.

This year's festival of the Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine was the "grandset" ever with an elaborate Thanksgiving Mass, the foundation's way of giving tribute and credit to the countless people particularly the poor-who have supported its activities the past years.

The Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine, managed by the V/B Alba Foundation, Inc., has other features. At the back of the Chapel is Memorial Park and other social events, activities like weddings, seminars, conferences, christening.
